Η ιστορική συνεργασία των θρύλων του Bristol με τον κορυφαίο Αμερικανό τραγουδοποιό δεν είναι απλώς ένα μουσικό γεγονός, αλλά μια ωμή πολιτική παρέμβαση στα αμερικανκά δρώμενα.

Η κυκλοφορία του single «Boots on the Ground» 2026 σηματοδοτεί μια από τις πιο ηχηρές επιστροφές στην παγκόσμια μουσική σκηνή.

Είναι η πρώτη πρωτότυπη κυκλοφορία του Tom Waits μετά το 2011 και η επιστροφή των Massive Attack μετά από έξι χρόνια σιωπής.

Το τραγούδι είναι ένα «μανιφέστο» κατά της ICE, που έρχεται να προστεθεί σε αυτά και άλλων ακτιβιστών καλλιτεχνών, με τον Μπρους Σπρίνγκστιν να είναι ο πρώτος με το «Streets of Minneapolis».

Ο trip hop ήχος των Massive Attack ενώνεται με το «γρέζι» της φωνής του Tom Waits, δίνοντας ένα καθηλωτικό αποτέλεσμα, με ωμούς στίχους για τη βία στην Αμερική, τα ανθρώπινα δικαιώματα, τους μετανάστες και τους άστεγους βετεράνους.

«Ποιοι διάολο είναι αυτοί οι ομοσπονδιακοί τύποι; Κρύβονται στη Γερουσία σαν φουσκωμένα τσιμπούρια… κάθονται σε δωμάτια γεμάτα με στρατιωτικές αφίσες».

Το οπτικό υλικό σε σκηνοθεσία των Massive Attack και φωτογραφία του thefinaleye, περιλαμβάνει όχι μόνο εικόνες από τις μεγαλύτερες διαδηλώσεις στην ιστορία της Αμερικής, αλλά και σκληρά στατιστικά δεδομένα για τις επιδρομές της υπηρεσίας ICE και την αστυνομική βία.

Σημαντικό ρόλο παίζει και ο γιος του Tom Waits, Casey Waits, στα κρουστά, δίνοντας μια πρωτόγονη ένταση.

Τα έσοδα από τις πωλήσεις θα διατεθούν στην ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union) και στο US Immigrant Defense Project, στηρίζοντας έμπρακτα τα θύματα της αυθαιρεσίας που περιγράφει το τραγούδι.
